Mazars Switzerland obtains accreditation from the Responsible Jewellery Council

Geneva, 28 April 2015 – Mazars Switzerland is proud to announce its certification as an auditor by the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC). This accreditation allows Mazars to offer its expertise as an RJC-accredited auditor and to further connect with other companies looking to join or already affiliated with this international non-profit organization. Already very active in the luxury and watchmaking sector, Mazars reinforces its position as a challenger in the luxury business area, which faces new challenges year after year, including social responsibilities.

Partner of the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève, Mazars Switzerland already operates as auditor and advisor to several luxury brands active in the jewellery and watch sector. The new certification allows Mazars to serve clients in all facets of the industry, including the crucial issue of ethics and social responsibility. Franck Paucod, Director at Mazars and responsible for customers in the luxury and watchmaking sector, highlights: “Our certification is part of a global advisory approach to companies in the watchmaking and jewellery sector in the field of social responsibility. This approach focuses on two objectives: the creation of value and risk management for our customers."

As an accredited auditor, Mazars ensures that standards established by the Responsible Jewellery Council, certifying responsible operations in the supply chain of gold, diamonds and other precious metals, are being respected among its customers within the RJC. Today, four countries – Switzerland, France, England and South Africa – are accredited. Mazars also aims at extending the number of accredited countries.
